In our presentation we will discuss the use of the Educational Teacher Performance Assessment (EdTPA) model in the student teaching semester. We will demonstrate how the EdTPA model facilitates Inquiry by challenging student teachers to learn about their students through strategic questioning and purposeful survey in an effort to better learn about the students as individuals with different cultural, academic, and socioeconomic perspectives, backgrounds, and abilities. We will also discuss the Application of our findings through the creations of lesson plans that engage students in meaningful and fulfilling learning. We will also discuss the use of the EdTPA lesson plan rubrics in creating and Applying effective methods of assessment in the classroom. We will Communicate our findings about the process of EdTPA and the resulting knowledge gained from the implementation of this program in our student teaching experience.
