This research compares comic strip and feature-length film versions of Batman and Superman stories. This analysis of specific Marvel Comics comic books with the Batman and Superman films focuses on acts of aggression towards other characters, and how the portrayal of such violence changes when stories go from two dimensions on paper to moving pictures with sound on the big screen. The effects on the audience as a function of each medium is also explored. This study raises the questions for how exaggerated violence becomes when the stories are told through differing mediums.
