This project explores the sitcom 30 Rock for its representation of opposing ideologies in the television industry. Through a textual analysis, focusing on the characters Liz Lemon and Jack Donaghy, the conflict between creative idealism and conservative capitalism will be discussed. It examines the situational comedy genre and its ability to critique the culture of broadcast television. The series’ plot follows the cast and crew of the fictional NBC comedy and variety show TGS with Tracy Jordan.
