This content analysis examines feature-length Disney animated films. Thirty-three fully animated, G-rated films released to theaters between 1937 and 2010 were analyzed with the criteria that the characters have dialogue, the movie tells one story, and the film is not a sequel. Violence was defined as any act performed by one character directed towards another character with the intention of causing harm.
