While clear links exist between executive function (EF) and Theory of Mind (ToM) in children and adults, the role that mood plays in reading another’s mental state remains unclear. The present study measures depression, executive function, affective ToM, and cognitive ToM in adults aged 18-30. It is expected that mood will negatively influence EF and ToM scores. Specifically, indicators of depression may relate to high affective ToM, but low, cognitive ToM scores.
